ImageAnne Boleyn was the second wife of Henry VIII. Anne and Henry were married soon after his divorce from Katherine of Aragon. Anne also promised Henry to give a male heir to the throne. One day, she gave birth to a son but it died soon afterwards. Instead, she gave birth to princess Elizabeth, later called Elizabeth I,who would become England’s greatest queen. For giving birth to Elizabeth, Anne was imprisoned on May 17, 1536. 2 days later, she was beheaded. 11 days later, Henry married Jane Seymour.
